Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat — A joint anti-drug operation led by the Tacurong City Police Station, along with the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Sultan Kudarat Police Provincial Office, resulted in the arrest of a suspected drug dealer and the confiscation of more than half a million pesos worth of suspected shabu on April 8.

The operation was carried out around 8:57 AM in Purok Linglingay, Barangay New Carmen, Tacurong City. Authorities served two search warrants which led to the arrest of a suspect known by the alias “King,” a legal-aged resident of the area.

The search, authorized by the Acting Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 20, Tacurong City, covered violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).

Seized during the raid were nine heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing approximately 77.83 grams with an estimated street value of Php 529,244.00. Police also recovered a caliber .38 revolver without a serial number, four live ammunition rounds, one empty shell, and assorted drug paraphernalia.

The suspect and all confiscated items were brought to Tacurong City Police Station for proper documentation and legal procedures.

Police Regional Office 12 Regional Director PBGEN Arnold P. Ardiente lauded the successful operation, praising the swift coordination among the law enforcement teams.

“I commend our personnel for their swift and coordinated action that led to the seizure of more than Php 529,000 worth of illegal drugs. We will continue to intensify our anti-drug operations across the region to ensure a safer and drug-free SOCCSKSARGEN,” PBGEN Ardiente said.

The arrest marks another significant step in the ongoing crackdown against illegal drugs in the region.
