Saguiaran, Lanao del Sur — A drug suspect was arrested during a joint anti-drug operation conducted by law enforcement authorities on the evening of April 11, 2025, in Barangay Pagalamatan, Saguiaran, Lanao del Sur.
The suspect, identified only by his alias “Omar,” a resident of Barangay Bangon, Marawi City, was apprehended in a buy-bust operation around 8:30 PM. The successful operation was carried out by the Provincial Special Operations Group and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PSOG/PDEU) of the Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office (LDSPPO), with the support of the 1403rd Regional Mobile Force Company (RMFB14-A), Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) BAR, Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) LDSPPO, and Saguiaran Municipal Police Station (MPS).
Confiscated from the suspect were one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, weighing approximately 0.72 grams, with an estimated street value of Php 4,896, along with marked buy-bust money.
Police Colonel Robert S. Daculan, Provincial Director of LDSPPO, commended the operating units for their coordination and commitment to the government’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs.
The suspect was informed of his constitutional rights in a language he fully understood. He is now under the custody of Saguiaran MPS while authorities prepare the appropriate charges against him.
Authorities reaffirmed their determination to curb illegal drug activities in the province and urged the public to remain vigilant and supportive of ongoing anti-drug efforts.
