Davao City — In a major boost to the region’s ongoing anti-drug efforts, authorities arrested three individuals during a successful buy-bust operation in Tagum City, Davao del Norte, on April 13, 2025. The operation, spearheaded by the Police Regional Office (PRO) 11, led to the seizure of suspected shabu valued at over PHP 612,000.

The suspects, identified only by their aliases “Long-Long,” “Ford,” and “Monroe,” were apprehended in an operation jointly conducted by the Tagum City Police Station, the 1st Davao Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company, and the Davao Norte Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU).

Recovered from the suspects were several sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 90 grams, marked money used during the sting, and a white Toyota Hiace Grandia believed to have been used to transport the illegal drugs.

PBGEN Leon Victor Z. Rosete, Regional Director of PRO 11, lauded the operatives for their dedication and coordinated efforts, highlighting the operation as a reflection of the region’s commitment to the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) anti-drug campaign. He also emphasized that this accomplishment aligns with the strategic direction set by PNP Chief PGEN Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, which focuses on fostering a stronger, community-centered policing approach.

Authorities have placed the suspects under custody and are preparing to file appropriate charges in violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
