LTC Michael Demafelix, commanding officer of the 101st Infantry “Sajahitra” Battalion under the 1102nd Brigade of the 11th Infantry “Alakdan” Division, Philippine Army, proudly shared in the Lingkod Bayan program of DXSM Radyo Pilipinas Jolo that peace and order are being maintained in the three municipalities under their jurisdiction—Luuk, Omar, and the island town of Banguingui in the second district of Sulu.
This achievement is made possible through close collaboration with various stakeholders, including local government units and their counterparts in the police force. Through various measures such as loudspeaker operations, COMELEC checkpoints, and community engagements, no crimes have been recorded in their areas of responsibility.
Additionally, LTC Demafelix highlighted that no violations of the ongoing election gun ban have been reported in preparation for the upcoming May 12, 2025, National and Midterm Elections.
He also noted that there are no longer any monitored activities of terrorist groups in the region, ensuring that residents and tourists alike can freely visit popular tourist destinations not only in the mentioned areas but also across the second district of Sulu.
