Camiguin, Philippines – Spanish Ambassador to the Philippines, His Excellency Miguel Utray Delgado, visited the province of Camiguin on February 27 to attend the presentation of the findings of a feasibility study on Solid Waste Management, Septage Treatment, and Wastewater Management. The study, funded by the Spanish Government, was conducted by ATI Consultores.
During the presentation held at the Provincial Capitol, ATI Consultores outlined key aspects of the study, including financial considerations and sustainable initiatives aimed at improving waste management efficiency in the province.
The event was attended by Governor XJ Romualdo, Congressman JJ Romualdo, Vice Governor Rodin Romualdo, members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, municipal mayors, vice mayors, Sangguniang Bayan members, as well as department heads from the provincial government and local government units (LGUs).
The feasibility study aims to enhance solid waste management and wastewater treatment systems in Camiguin, ensuring a more sustainable approach to environmental preservation and public health. The Spanish Government’s funding and support highlight the strong collaboration between Spain and the Philippines in addressing environmental challenges.
Local officials expressed their gratitude for Spain’s assistance in the initiative, emphasizing the importance of improving waste disposal and water sanitation for the benefit of Camiguin’s residents and environment.
