MANILA – Former Zamboanga del Sur Governor Atty. Antonio “Tony” Cerilles has been appointed as the Presidential Adviser for Mindanao Concerns, holding the rank of Secretary under the Office of the President.
In a formal ceremony, Cerilles took his oath before President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., signifying his official assumption of the position. His appointment is expected to play a crucial role in addressing key issues and fostering development initiatives in Mindanao.
Accompanying the newly appointed secretary during the ceremony was his wife, Auring “Enerio” Cerilles, who is also aspiring for a congressional seat in Zamboanga del Sur’s 2nd District.
Cerilles, a seasoned public servant and legal expert, has had an extensive political career, including serving as a governor and holding other government positions. His new role as Presidential Adviser for Mindanao Concerns is seen as a strategic move to further strengthen governance and development efforts in the region.
