Marantao, Lanao del Sur – A successful anti-drug operation led by the Marantao Municipal Police Station (MPS) resulted in the arrest of a drug suspect in Barangay Loway Inudaran, Marantao, Lanao del Sur at around 9:20 PM on March 4, 2025.
Police Colonel Robert S. Daculan, Provincial Director of Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office (LDSPPO), commended the operating unit personnel for their efforts in executing the buy-bust operation. The suspect, a resident of Barangay Dialongana Cawayaan, Marantao, was apprehended following the transaction.
Authorities recovered and confiscated the following items from the suspect’s possession:
- Twelve (12) small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, with an estimated weight of 4.5 grams and a street value of Php30,600.00;
- Four (4) folded aluminum foils;
- Buy-bust money;
- One (1) gray coin pouch;
- One (1) black/red Honda XRM 125 motorcycle without a plate number and key;
- One (1) green disposable lighter.
The suspect was immediately informed of his legal rights in a language he understands. Following standard procedures, an inventory of the confiscated items was conducted in the presence of a barangay official and a representative from the Department of Justice (DOJ). The arrested individual was subsequently taken to Marantao MPS for further processing and legal actions.
This operation is part of the continued efforts of law enforcement agencies in Lanao del Sur to combat illegal drug activities and uphold public safety. Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to illegal drugs in their communities.
