Marantao, Lanao del Sur — In a significant breakthrough against illegal drugs and criminality, operatives of the Marantao Municipal Police Station (MPS), in close coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), arrested one of Antipolo City Police Office’s Top 10 Most Wanted Persons during a buy-bust operation on July 14, 2025.

The operation was conducted around 1:50 p.m. in Barangay Bubong Madanding, resulting in the arrest of a 25-year-old suspect known by the alias “Mahid,” a resident of the same barangay. The suspect was caught in the act of selling suspected shabu.

Authorities confiscated suspected shabu with an estimated street value of ₱29,920.00 during the operation. The seized items were promptly inventoried in the presence of a barangay official and a representative from the Department of Justice, ensuring full compliance with legal protocols.

Upon verification, it was revealed that Mahid is also the subject of a standing Warrant of Arrest for Murder, further compounding the charges against him.

The suspect is currently detained at the Marantao MPS. Appropriate charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being readied. Authorities also confirmed that the return of the arrest warrant will be submitted to its court of origin.

Police Brigadier General Jaysen C. De Guzman, Regional Director of the Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO BAR), lauded the successful joint operation, praising the swift and coordinated action of the law enforcement units involved.

“This arrest sends a clear and strong message to all fugitives and individuals involved in illegal drug activities that PRO BAR remains relentless in its pursuit of justice. We will continue to protect and safeguard every community across the Bangsamoro region,” PBGen De Guzman said.

Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to upholding the law and ensuring that those who threaten peace and order are held accountable.
