Villanueva, Misamis Oriental – Authorities from the Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office (MORPPO) successfully conducted a buy-bust operation in Purok 2, Barangay Looc, Villanueva, during the early hours of February 16, 2025.
Based on the official report, two suspects—a male and a female, both single and jobless residents of Zone 3, Barangay Agusan, Cagayan de Oro City—were arrested in the operation at approximately 2:10 AM.
Law enforcement confiscated ten small heat-sealed elongated rectangular transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu. Other seized items included a blue touchscreen Realme cellphone, a black Vivo cellphone, a blue coin purse, a black pouch, and Php500.00 in marked buy-bust money.
Authorities estimated the total weight of the confiscated illegal drugs at approximately 35 grams, with a standard drug price valuation of Php238,000.00.
The suspects are currently detained at the Villanueva Municipal Police Station for booking and proper legal procedures.
PCOL Salaguste, Provincial Director of MORPPO, commended the operating team for their successful operation and reiterated the police force’s commitment to eliminating illegal activities in Misamis Oriental. He encouraged continued vigilance and reinforced the importance of the province’s anti-criminality campaign.
