Camp Gallego, Tubod, Lanao del Norte – In a decisive move against illegal drug activities, authorities conducted a joint anti-illegal drug operation in Purok 5, Brgy. Bagumbayan, Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte, on February 15, 2025, at around 2:00 PM.

The operation, led by personnel from Kauswagan Municipal Police Station (MPS) in coordination with the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), Lanao del Norte Police Provincial Office (LDN PPO), 1st LDN Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), and the 5th Special Operations Unit of the Philippine National Police-Maritime Group, was carried out through the implementation of Search Warrant No. 25-0107. The warrant was issued by Hon. Ali Ombra R. Bacaraman, Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) 12th Judicial Region, Branch 4, Hall of Justice, Iligan City, dated February 13, 2025. The operation was also conducted in coordination with PDEA Pre-Ops No. 30002-022025-0332 for Violation of R.A. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

As a result, law enforcement apprehended a 23-year-old male driver, who resides in the area with his live-in partner. A search of the suspect’s residence led to the recovery of the following items:

  • Four small sachets of suspected shabu (approximately 0.3 grams) valued at Php 2,040.00.
  • Four pieces of folded aluminum foil.
  • One blue disposable lighter.
  • One empty self-sealing transparent plastic cellophane.
  • One piece of paper.

Following the successful operation, the suspect and the confiscated evidence were transported to Kauswagan MPS for proper documentation and legal proceedings. Authorities are now preparing cases for violation of Section 11 and 12, Article II of R.A. 9165, which will be filed in court against the suspect.

PCOL Roy A. Magsalay, Provincial Director of LDN PPO, commended the officers involved in the operation, highlighting their commitment to combating illegal drug activities in the province.

“This operation underscores the relentless commitment of LDN PPO in combating the proliferation of illegal drugs in the community. We assure the public that we will continue to intensify our efforts to eradicate illegal drug activities and bring offenders to justice,” he said.
