Villanueva, Misamis Oriental – October 21, 2024
In a successful buy-bust operation conducted on the evening of October 21, 2024, personnel from the Misamis Oriental Provincial Police Office (MORPPO) apprehended a drug suspect in Purok 2, Barangay Looc, Villanueva. The operation took place at approximately 7:22 PM and resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs with a total estimated street value of PHP 17,000.
The suspect, identified as a 28-year-old resident of Purok 4, Barangay Poblacion 3, was arrested after allegedly selling controlled substances to an undercover officer. Confiscated during the operation were eighteen heat-sealed sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, a coin purse containing PHP 500, which was used as buy-bust money, and an Infinix brand cellphone.
The total weight of the seized drugs was reported to be 2.5 grams, with a standard drug price estimated at PHP 17,000.
Following the arrest, the suspect was detained at the Villanueva Municipal Police Station for booking and further legal proceedings.
PCOL Wilbur M. Salaguste, Provincial Director of MORPPO, commended the operating personnel for their successful execution of the operation and emphasized the importance of ongoing efforts to combat illegal activities within the province. “We encourage our personnel to continue their unwavering commitment to eradicating all forms of illegal activities and to reinvigorate our anti-criminality campaign,” Salaguste stated.
