Tagum City, Philippines – Education takes a front seat in Tagum City as the local government officially launched the second year of Project L.E.T.R.A. on Wheels: Gulong ng Karunungan on February 24, 2025. Running until June 30, 2025, the initiative provides free educational access to the children of night market vendors, offering them an opportunity to learn while their parents work. Sessions are held every Monday to Friday, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at the Tagum City Trade Center Pavilion.

Recognizing the challenges faced by vendors’ children, particularly those aged 3 to 12, the program seeks to create an avenue for learning amidst the daily grind of their parents’ livelihood. By bringing education closer to these young learners, the initiative ensures that no child is left behind despite economic struggles.
Spearheaded by the local government under the leadership of Mayor Rey T. Uy, Project L.E.T.R.A. on Wheels enjoys strong support from various volunteer groups, schools, and partner organizations. Mayor Uy has been a staunch advocate for education, believing in its power to uplift individuals and communities. Through this program, he aims to provide equal learning opportunities, equipping children with the knowledge and skills they need for a brighter future.
The initiative not only fosters literacy and education but also serves as a testament to the city’s commitment to inclusive learning. As it rolls out for another year, Project L.E.T.R.A. on Wheels continues to light the path toward a better tomorrow—one lesson at a time.
