The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) of the Province of Dinagat Islands (PDI) marked a significant milestone as it celebrated its 12th anniversary on January 25, 2025. This momentous occasion commemorated the full operationalization of PENRO PDI following the issuance of DENR Administrative Order No. 2013-07 by then-DENR Secretary Ramon J.P. Paje.
The celebration, held at the scenic Duyos Beach Resort in Barangay Columbos, Basilisa, was graced by the presence of OIC-PENR Officer For. Nathaniel E. Racho, Chief Technical Services Division For. Geoffrey R. Padullon, and Chief Management Services Division For. Rachel Y. Sapid. The event gathered PENRO PDI personnel, including both permanent and contract employees, reflecting on the agency’s journey over the past twelve years.
One of the highlights of the event was the 1st Provincial Management Conference and Field Delivery Units’ (FDU) Meeting for 2025. During the gathering, OIC-PENRO Racho underscored the vital role of teamwork in achieving success. Quoting industrialist Henry Ford, he remarked, “Coming together is just a beginning, keeping together is progress, working together is success.” His message encouraged personnel to reflect on their past year’s achievements and challenges, fostering a renewed commitment to excellence and collaboration.
In line with the anniversary celebration, team-building activities were conducted to strengthen camaraderie and enhance the collective effectiveness of PENRO PDI in fulfilling its mandate. These exercises aimed to reinforce the office’s commitment to protecting, conserving, managing, and developing the province’s rich natural resources.
The 12th-anniversary commemoration not only recognized PENRO PDI’s achievements but also served as a reminder of the agency’s unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship. As PENRO PDI looks ahead, it remains dedicated to strengthening partnerships and enhancing service delivery for the benefit of the people and the environment of Dinagat Islands.
