Butuan City – Authorities confiscated an estimated Php272,000 worth of shabu in a successful drug operation conducted by the Special Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of Butuan City Police Station 1 in Purok-4, Barangay Tandang Sora, Butuan City, at around 1:44 AM on February 10, 2025.
Police Colonel Rommel D. Villamor, City Director of the Butuan City Police Office, identified the arrested suspect as alias “Dodong,” a newly identified drug personality, 44 years old, and a resident of Purok-4, Barangay Tandang Sora, Butuan City.
During the operation, authorities seized 40 grams of suspected shabu valued at Php272,000, along with a black arm sleeve, an improvised aluminum tooter, two disposable yellow lighters without flame guards, an improvised bamboo sealer, empty plastic sachets, a stainless scissor with a black plastic handle, a rolled aluminum foil, a digital weighing scale, a small improvised bamboo sealer, and Php2,604 in cash.
The operation was conducted based on Search Warrant No. 2025-02-06-01, issued by Hon. Marigel S. Dagani-Hugo, Presiding Judge of Regional Trial Court 3, 10th Judicial Region, Libertad, Butuan City, for violations of Republic Act (RA) 9165, also known as the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”
The successful operation by the Butuan PNP reflects the ongoing efforts to combat illegal drugs, enhance public safety in Butuan City, and maintain order to prevent the proliferation of illicit activities in the community.
