Camp Col Rafael C. Rodriguez, Butuan City – Police operatives successfully seized P1,700,000 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as ‘shabu,’ from a high-value drug suspect in Butuan City on February 15.
Police Brigadier General Christopher N. Abrahano, Regional Director of the Police Regional Office 13, confirmed that the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 13 and Butuan City Police Station 3 conducted a buy-bust operation in Barangay Libertad, Butuan City. The suspect, identified by the alias ‘Man,’ 44 years old, was arrested during the operation.
Authorities confiscated 250 grams of suspected ‘shabu,’ along with P12,000 in marked buy-bust money and other personal belongings.
Alias ‘Man’ is set to face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
“Our anti-illegal drug operations remain relentless to go after those who are still peddling or using dangerous drugs. I also encourage everyone to cooperate and support our campaign for us to keep our substantial gains,” RD Abrahano stated.
The police emphasized their commitment to eradicating illegal drugs in the region and called on the public to support their ongoing anti-drug campaign.
