TUBOD, Lanao del Norte—Officials from the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) Northern Mindanao, led by Regional Director Abdulnasser P. Masorong, Jr., CESO III, paid a courtesy visit to Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo on February 12, 2025, to discuss key programs and projects aimed at uplifting Muslim communities in the province.
Governor Angging warmly welcomed Director Masorong and his delegation, which included Chief Administrative Officer Atty. Mohammad Hussien Lucman, Alternate Planning Officer Mohammad G. Naga, and NCM-LDN Provincial Director Husni Sarip. Sangguniang Board Member Ma. Cristina Atay was also present during the discussions.
A primary topic of discussion was the administrative supervision of the NCMF’s Lanao del Norte (LDN) Field Office. Director Masorong clarified that although Lanao del Norte falls under the jurisdiction of Northern Mindanao, an office order placed the provincial office under the supervision of NCMF Marawi. Governor Angging expressed her full support for reverting the NCMF-LDN Field Office’s administrative supervision back to Region X. She emphasized ongoing efforts with local legislators to bring national line agency field offices closer to the people.
To enhance accessibility for the Muslim community, Governor Angging has facilitated the establishment of a temporary NCMF office at the Provincial Capitol in Pigcarangan, Tubod. This initiative aims to better serve the needs of the Muslim population in the province.
Director Masorong acknowledged the challenges posed by the current administrative arrangement but affirmed NCMF’s commitment to providing essential services. He highlighted ongoing programs, such as civil registration in collaboration with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and local civil registrars, which aim to ensure proper documentation for unregistered individuals in remote areas.
Further expanding their outreach, Director Masorong announced that NCMF would extend its services to the municipalities of Tagoloan and Pantar in the last week of February. These efforts align with Governor Angging’s mission to bring government services closer to the people, ensuring that Muslim communities in Lanao del Norte receive essential support and assistance.
