The BAYI Power Summit 2025 took center stage on February 24-25 at the Quezon City Meetings, Incentives, Conference & Exhibits (M.I.C.E.) Center, bringing together women leaders, advocates, and changemakers to strengthen feminist leadership in the Philippines. This groundbreaking event aimed to foster a strong network of feminist fellows, showcase transformative initiatives, launch a dedicated leadership network, and develop policy recommendations ahead of the 2025 and 2026 elections.
The two-day summit offered an immersive experience designed to inspire, connect, and mobilize women leaders and their allies. Through dynamic discussions, interactive workshops, and creative interludes, participants engaged in meaningful conversations about feminist leadership and collective action. The event provided a platform for knowledge-sharing and collaboration, emphasizing the power of women in governance and social change.
A key highlight of the summit was the launch of the BAYI Feminist Leadership Network, a dynamic space for women leaders, civil servants, and emerging changemakers to collaborate, mentor, and amplify their work. Guided by the principles of the 7Cs—courage, compassion, competence, commitment, connectedness, collaboration, and critical thinking—this network seeks to drive impactful leadership and inclusive progress.
Among the diverse attendees were prominent figures from Lanao del Sur, including Prof. Norkaya Mohammad of the Al Mujadillah Women’s Association, Pinolie Guro, Municipal Budget Officer of Binidayan, Provincial Information Officer Salma Jayne Tamano, and Maguing Youth Development Officer Norain Mohammad. Their participation underscored the summit’s commitment to uplifting voices from various sectors and regions, reinforcing the inclusive and empowering nature of feminist leadership.
As the Philippines approaches crucial electoral milestones in 2025 and 2026, the BAYI Power Summit 2025 has set the stage for a more gender-inclusive political and social landscape. By fostering collaboration and amplifying the voices of women leaders, the event stands as a testament to the strength of collective action in shaping a more equitable future.
