Cotabato City—A successful buy-bust operation conducted by the Drug Enforcement Officers of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Tawi-Tawi Provincial Office led to the dismantling of a drug den and the arrest of its operator and two accomplices in Barangay Tubig Boh, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi on February 25, 2025.
According to Director Castro, “This success demonstrates the strength of unity and dedication. We are not only dismantling a drug den but also protecting the future of our citizens and saving lives from the dangers of illegal drugs.”
Authorities seized five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets and eleven assorted color heat-sealed straws containing a total of six grams of illegal drugs, valued at PHP 40,800. Also recovered were buy-bust money, drug paraphernalia, and identification cards.
The arrested suspects were identified as Alyas Diana, 45, female, the alleged drug den maintainer; Alyas Jadi, 30, male; and Alyas Jaynie, 29, male. They are currently detained at the Bongao Municipal Police Station while awaiting inquest proceedings for violations of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The successful operation was the result of coordination among members of the 51st Special Action Company of the Philippine National Police Special Action Force, 1st Special Operating Unit Maritime Group, 300 Air Intelligence and Security Wing, 51st 35th Air Base Squadron of the Philippine Air Force, and the Bongao Municipal Police Station.
