DAVAO CITY – The Partido Demokratiko Pilipino (PDP-Laban) convened for a National Coordination Meeting at the Grand Men Seng Hotel on Thursday night, January 30, 2025. The event gathered key party members, including former President Rodrigo Duterte, Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte, and senatorial candidates under the PDP-Laban banner.
In his address, former President Duterte called on President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to ensure fair elections. “This coming election, I hope that the President, if he hears me, will give the people a fair fight… just like I did before. I was straightforward with the people. Let’s not resort to intimidation and violence,” he said.
Mayor Baste Duterte, rallying party members, delivered a strong statement against the current administration. “A vote for PDP is a vote against an administration that has done nothing but oppress its people,” he declared. “Para saan ang laban sa PDP-Laban kung hindi tayo lalaban?” (What is the fight for PDP-Laban if we will not fight?)
Also present at the gathering were PDP-Laban senatorial candidates, including Senators Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa, Christopher “Bong” Go, Robin Padilla, and actor Philip Salvador, along with other party officials.
The meeting reaffirmed PDP-Laban’s commitment to challenging the current administration in the upcoming elections. “We will win,” former President Duterte confidently told party members.
