Davao City, Philippines— A 33-year-old man, identified only as alias “Mark,” was arrested after allegedly causing a disturbance and firing a gun during an altercation at around 2:05 a.m. on Monday, January 27, 2025, in Purok 7, Barangay Dacudao, Calinan District.
According to reports, the incident began when Mark confronted his drinking companion, alias “Jack,” 23 years old, and attempted to punch him. The punch missed, and Jack retaliated. Enraged, Mark reportedly issued a threat, saying, “I will kill you. Wait for me.”
Mark later returned armed with a pistol and pointed it at Jack. Fearing for his life, Jack ran away and heard a gunshot as he fled.
Jack and other witnesses sought assistance from the Calinan Police Station, leading to Mark’s arrest. Authorities recovered a .22 caliber Black Widow pistol from the suspect.
Mark now faces multiple charges, including Grave Threat, Alarm and Scandal, violations of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act), and a breach of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) Gun Ban, which is currently in effect.
The police have reminded the public to adhere to gun regulations and to report similar incidents to maintain peace and safety in the community.
