Barangay Casinglot, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental — January 22, 2025
In a decisive anti-drug operation, the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) 10, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 10 (PDEA RO 10) Misamis Oriental Provincial Office, successfully apprehended a suspected drug personality in Barangay Casinglot, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.
The suspect, identified as Alias Julius, a 59-year-old resident of Barangay Tablon, Cagayan de Oro City, was arrested during the operation. Authorities confiscated approximately 5 grams of shabu with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of Php 34,000.
Alias Julius will face charges for violating Article II of Republic Act 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. This law prescribes strict penalties for the possession, sale, and distribution of illegal drugs in the Philippines.
The successful buy-bust operation underscores the strong collaboration between the Philippine National Police (PNP) and PDEA in combating illegal drug activities. It also reflects the continuing efforts to ensure safer communities in Misamis Oriental by cracking down on the proliferation of illegal substances.
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying the campaign against illegal drugs and urged the public to report suspicious activities to help maintain peace and order in their localities.
