Kolambugan, Lanao Del Norte — A meticulously planned anti-drug operation conducted by the personnel of Tangcal Municipal Police Station (MPS) and Kolambugan MPS on January 10, 2025, successfully apprehended a suspect identified as a Drug Index (DI) Watchlisted individual. The operation unfolded at Purok 2, Barangay Kulasihan, Kolambugan.
The suspect, a 24-year-old male residing in Purok 2, Barangay Liangan West, Maigo, Lanao Del Norte, was arrested after an undercover officer acting as a poseur-buyer purchased a small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu. The transaction involved a marked Php 500 bill bearing serial number FJ960453.
A subsequent body search at the scene led to the confiscation of the following items:
- Two (2) pieces of white paper;
- Three (3) rectangular heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu;
- Several pieces of aluminum foil;
- One (1) blue disposable lighter without a head cover;
- Three (3) Php 1.00 coins; and
- Cash in various denominations totaling Php 240.00.
The confiscated drugs, including the sachet purchased during the operation, weighed approximately 2 grams with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) value of Php 13,600.00. The entire procedure was conducted in an orderly manner, duly witnessed by the accused, a media representative, and barangay officials to ensure transparency.
The suspect is now in the custody of Kolambugan MPS for documentation and further legal proceedings. Meanwhile, the confiscated items have been forwarded to the Provincial Forensic Unit, Lanao Del Norte Provincial Police Office (LDN PPO), for comprehensive quantitative and qualitative examination.
PCOL Roy A. Magsalay, Provincial Director of LDN PPO, commended the operating team for their dedication and exemplary performance. He emphasized the organization’s continued commitment to eradicating illegal drugs, stating, “We assure the public that we will continue to intensify our efforts to get rid of illegal drug activities and bring offenders to justice. Dahil sa Bagong Pilipinas, ang Gusto ng Pulis, Ligtas ka!”
