Kolambugan, Lanao del Norte – A joint anti-drug operation led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office X (PDEA RO-X) resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs in Brgy. Muntay, Kolambugan, Lanao del Norte, on March 25, 2025. However, the suspect, identified only as Alias Indik, managed to evade arrest.
The buy-bust operation was carried out in coordination with the 5th Mechanized Battalion, Police Regional Office 10 – Regional Intelligence Unit (PRO10-RIU), and the Kolambugan Municipal Police Station. Authorities confiscated one gram of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP6,800.00, successfully preventing it from reaching local communities.
Despite the suspect’s escape, law enforcement officials are actively pursuing leads to locate and apprehend him. The operation was conducted under Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, reinforcing the government’s commitment to eradicating illegal drugs in the country.
PDEA RO-X assured the public that its relentless efforts to combat illegal drug activities will continue. Authorities also urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to help maintain a drug-free community.
The operation highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to curb drug proliferation and ensure the safety and well-being of residents in Lanao del Norte.
