In a significant move against illegal drug activities, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office X successfully led a buy-bust operation in Kolambugan, Lanao del Norte, earlier today. The operation, which took place in collaboration with multiple agencies including the PDEA RO-X Misamis Occidental Provincial Office, the Kolambugan Municipal Police Station, and the Regional Intelligence Unit 10 of the Philippine National Police (PNP), underscores the commitment to combating drug-related crimes in the region.
During the operation, law enforcement personnel seized approximately 7 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of Php 47,600. The operation resulted in the arrest of three suspects:
- Alias Fe, 45 years old, identified as a regional priority drug personality from Barangay Rebucon, Kolambugan.
- Alias Al, 35 years old, also from Barangay Rebucon, who is believed to be an accomplice of Alias Fe.
- Alias Saida, 38 years old, from Barangay Poblacion, Kolambugan.
All three individuals are set to face charges under Republic Act 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The successful operation highlights PDEA RO-X’s ongoing commitment to dismantling illegal drug networks and ensuring the safety of communities in Lanao del Norte. PDEA officials emphasized the crucial role of inter-agency collaboration in achieving significant results in the fight against illegal drugs.
