The Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) officially turned over seven police patrol vehicles to the Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region on December 13, 2024. The handover ceremony, held at the BARMM READi in the Bangsamoro Government Center, marked another milestone in the region’s efforts to strengthen peace and security.
The event included the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), symbolizing the shared commitment of the BARMM government and law enforcement agencies to maintain order and ensure public safety. MILG Minister MP Atty. Sha Elijah B. Dumama-Alba emphasized the significance of these vehicles in bolstering law enforcement capabilities. In her speech, she underscored the critical role of peace and security in fostering progress and urged the police to utilize the resources effectively to serve the Bangsamoro communities.
“These patrol vehicles are a vital step toward enhancing our region’s ability to ensure public safety. I call on our police officers to use these resources wisely as we work together to maintain peace and security for the benefit of the Bangsamoro people,” said Minister Dumama-Alba.
Representing the Police Regional Office BARMM, PCOL Julius Cecil S. Ordoño, OIC, DRDA, conveyed gratitude on behalf of PBGEN Romeo J. Macapaz, Regional Director. PCOL Ordoño acknowledged the MILG and the BARMM government’s continued support, emphasizing that the new patrol vehicles would significantly enhance the police’s ability to uphold peace and order throughout the region.
“This generous support from the MILG and BARMM government will strengthen our efforts to protect communities and ensure the safety of everyone in the region,” PCOL Ordoño remarked.
The turnover ceremony reflects the BARMM government’s unwavering commitment to addressing public safety challenges and fostering a secure environment conducive to development. The new patrol vehicles are expected to be deployed across the region to enhance the police’s operational efficiency in responding to emergencies and maintaining order.
