In a series of intensified manhunt operations across Sarangani, authorities successfully arrested two high-profile suspects wanted for serious criminal offenses.
In the first operation, personnel from Malapatan Municipal Police Station (MPS) served a warrant of arrest for attempted homicide against the region’s Top 8 Most Wanted Person, known as alias “Sawi.” The 42-year-old farmer, a resident of Sitio Lamlutay, Barangay Kinam, Malapatan, Sarangani Province, was apprehended at the Malapatan District Jail in Purok 9B, Barangay Poblacion. The arrest was made in connection with Criminal Case Nos. 21-5072-M and 21-5073-M for attempted homicide under Article 249 of the Revised Penal Code, with bail set at PHP 72,000. “Sawi” remains under the custody of Malapatan District Jail pending further legal proceedings.
In a separate operation on November 12, 2024, the Sarangani Police Provincial Office (PPO) conducted a successful manhunt Charlie operation, resulting in the capture of the Top 2 Most Wanted Person of Maasim, Sarangani Province. The suspect, known as alias “Omar,” is a 40-year-old resident of Purok 3, Barangay Poblacion, Maasim. He was apprehended by a joint team from Maasim MPS and other local units. “Omar” faces charges of syndicated estafa under Article 315, Paragraph 2(A) of the Revised Penal Code, related to Presidential Decree 1689. The warrant for his arrest, issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 48 in Alabel, Sarangani Province, is without bail.
Both suspects are now in the custody of local authorities, marking significant progress in Sarangani’s efforts to bring high-profile criminals to justice. Sarangani PPO’s Provincial Director, PCOL Deanry R. Francisco, commended the operating units for their dedication and coordination in apprehending these individuals, emphasizing the ongoing commitment to public safety and the rule of law in the province.
