In a series of successful operations, law enforcement agencies in Region 12 apprehended two of the region’s most wanted fugitives, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to justice and public safety.
The first operation, conducted by personnel from Police Station 7, the City Intelligence Unit, the Investigation and Detective Management Unit, and other units from the General Santos City Police Office (GSCPO), along with the 1201st Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 12, General Santos City Highway Patrol Team, CIDG12-RSOT, GENSAN Maritime Police Station (MARPSTA), and the MLET Maasim, led to the arrest of “Sam,” a farmer and the Top 4 Most Wanted Person at the regional level. Sam, 45, residing in Purok 2, Barangay San Jose, General Santos City, was wanted on six counts of statutory rape. He was located and apprehended at Purok 11-A, Fil-am Avenue, Barangay Fatima, General Santos City. Following his arrest, Sam was taken to Police Station 7 for further processing.
Police Regional Office 12 (PRO 12) Officer-in-Charge, PBGEN Gulmatico, praised the collaborative efforts and dedication of the teams involved, stating, “This arrest sends a powerful message that justice will reach anyone who commits heinous crimes. Our mission to uphold the law and protect our citizens is steadfast, and we will continue to pursue and hold accountable those who threaten the safety of our communities. This accomplishment is a testament to the strength of our partnerships and the resolve of law enforcement agencies across the region.”
In a separate operation, the Tracker Team of Alabel Municipal Police Station, Provincial Intelligence Unit Sarangani, Regional Intelligence Division 12, 1st Sarangani Provincial Mobile Force Company, Regional Special Operations Group, 1201st Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 12, and the Highway Patrol Group Sarangani successfully apprehended “Jepoy,” the Top 10 Most Wanted Person at the regional level. Jepoy was arrested in Purok Glamang, Barangay Datal Anggas, Alabel, Sarangani Province, on November 12, 2024. Jepoy was wanted under a warrant issued by Hon. Judge Fatima K. San Pedro-Eugenio of the 12th Judicial Region, Branch 10, Alabel, Sarangani Province, for violation of the Act of Lasciviousness in relation to Section 5(B) of Republic Act 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act). The warrant, issued on October 18, 2024, did not recommend bail.
Upon arrest, Jepoy was informed of his constitutional rights in a language he understood and was then transported to Alabel MPS for documentation and disposition. PBGEN Gulmatico commended the professionalism and dedication of the units involved in this operation as well, stating, “This operation reflects our continued resolve to apprehend fugitives who pose a threat to public safety. The commitment and cooperation among our police teams demonstrate our unyielding dedication to enforcing the law and upholding justice for our communities.”
These operations underscore the strength of interagency coordination and a united front against crime in Region 12.
