Cagayan de Oro City — Authorities confiscated approximately Php 408,000 worth of suspected shabu in a successful buy-bust operation conducted on November 23, 2024, in Lower St. Ignatius, Barangay Macasandig, Cagayan de Oro City.
Police Brigadier General Jaysen C. De Guzman, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 10, identified the suspect as a 39-year-old male known only as “Andy,” a resident of the area.
Operation Details
The buy-bust operation was carried out by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 10 in coordination with the Regional Intelligence Unit 10 and Cagayan de Oro Police Station 9. Confiscated during the operation were:
- Seven sachets of suspected shabu, weighing 60 grams, with a Standard Drug Price value of Php 408,000.
- A Php 1,000 bill used as marked buy-bust money.
Charges and Commendation
The suspect will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PBGen De Guzman lauded the operating units for the successful operation, stating:
“The successful operations reflect our unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of our communities. We will continue to intensify our anti-illegal drug campaigns to bring drug offenders to justice.”
