CAMP ALAGAR, Cagayan de Oro City – The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 10 (RPDEU-10) successfully apprehended a suspect and confiscated suspected illegal drugs during a buy-bust operation conducted on October 9, 2024, in Barangay Puerto, Cagayan de Oro City.
The suspect, identified as alias “Gina,” a 41-year-old female resident of Baloc-baloc, Barangay Puerto, was previously arrested in 2015 for violating Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, but was acquitted in 2019.
During the operation, authorities seized six heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu. The confiscated drugs weighed approximately 50 grams and had an estimated street value of ₱340,000.00. A marked ₱1,000.00 bill used in the buy-bust was also recovered.
The suspect and the seized illegal drugs were taken to the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) Police Station 6 and the Regional Forensic Unit 10 (RFU-10) for proper documentation and disposition.
PBGEN Jaysen C. De Guzman, Acting Regional Director of PRO10, commended the RPDEU-10 for their relentless efforts in combating the illegal drug trade in the region. He reaffirmed the police force’s dedication to safeguarding communities from the dangers of illegal drugs.
“This accomplishment is a testament to the tireless efforts of PRO10 in protecting our communities from the harmful effects of illegal substances. I commend the RPDEU-10 for a job well done. Together, with the support of our communities and other law enforcement agencies, we will prevail in this fight,” De Guzman said.
The operation is part of the ongoing intensified campaign against illegal drugs in Northern Mindanao, as the police remain committed to dismantling drug networks and ensuring a safer environment for the public.
