GENERAL SANTOS CITY — In a decisive anti-criminality operation, authorities in General Santos City arrested a 51-year-old man and confiscated illegal drugs, firearms, and a grenade during a joint police raid in Barangay Tambler on October 30, 2025.
The operation was jointly carried out by personnel of Police Station 5 and the City Mobile Force Company under the General Santos City Police Office (GSCPO) by virtue of two search warrants for violations of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The suspect, identified only as alias “Kardo,” a resident of Barangay Tambler, was caught in possession of one M26 hand grenade, a caliber .45 (1911) pistol, five magazines, 17 rounds of .45-caliber ammunition, 26 rounds of 9mm ammunition, and two 20-gauge live bullets.
Also seized were six sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 18 grams, valued at ₱122,400 based on the National Standard Drug Price, along with two improvised plastic tooters used for drug consumption.
All confiscated items and the suspect were brought to Police Station 5 for documentation and filing of appropriate charges.
Police Regional Office 12 Regional Director PBGEN Arnold P. Ardiente commended the operating units for the successful implementation of the search warrants, emphasizing the continuing drive of law enforcement agencies to combat criminality in the region.
“This successful operation underscores our steadfast commitment to maintain peace and order by eradicating illegal drugs and unlicensed firearms within the region. We will continue to intensify our efforts to ensure the safety of our communities,” Ardiente said.
Authorities reaffirmed that similar operations will continue as part of the regional police’s campaign to ensure public safety and dismantle networks involved in illegal drugs and firearms.
