PDEA and Iligan City Police Bust Drug Den in Iligan City, Three Arrested

Iligan City, Philippines – In a coordinated operation late in the evening on November 7, 2024, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office-X (PDEA RO-X), along with local law enforcement units, successfully dismantled a drug den in Barangay Tambacan, Iligan City. The joint effort involved the Misamis Occidental and Lanao Del Norte Provincial Offices of PDEA RO-X and the City Drug Enforcement Unit of the Iligan City Police Office (CDEU-ICPO).

During the operation, authorities apprehended three individuals and seized approximately 7 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP 47,600. Among the arrested suspects were Alias Cy, 45, allegedly maintaining the drug den, and two visitors, identified as Alias Bert, 24, and Alias Rey, 32, all residents of Barangay Tambacan.

The suspects face charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165), which targets individuals involved in the illegal drug trade.

PDEA RO-X emphasized that this operation reflects its commitment, alongside other law enforcement agencies, to combat illegal drugs and create safer communities in Iligan City and neighboring areas. This successful bust highlights ongoing efforts to reduce drug-related crime and the agency’s dedication to maintaining public safety.
