DSWD Field Office XI Honored for 100% Completion of Community Development Projects in Davao Region

Mandurriao, Iloilo City — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI has been recognized by the National Program Management Office (NPMO) of the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) for its exemplary completion of all subprojects in the Davao Region. These projects, under the Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Project (PMNP) and National Community-Driven Development Projects-Additional Financing (NCDDP-AF), were celebrated for reaching 100% completion during the National Liquidation Workshop 2024.

DSWD XI, working closely with local government units (LGUs) and community volunteers, has implemented a total of 667 subprojects, with a cumulative value of PHP646,683,101.03. These initiatives were divided into 110 projects under the PMNP, costing PHP89,279,000.00, and 537 projects under the NCDDP-AF, amounting to PHP557,404,101.03. The projects covered essential community-identified needs such as nutrition, infrastructure, livelihood, and access to basic services, reflecting DSWD’s mission to empower communities through a community-driven development (CDD) approach.

This year’s liquidation workshop served as a platform to highlight the significance of the completed subprojects and their lasting impact on the communities they serve. The DSWD XI Regional Program Management Office (RPMO) noted that the success of these initiatives goes beyond their completion, emphasizing the importance of sustainable benefits for the Davao Region’s communities.

NPMO representatives commended DSWD XI’s dedication to involving local communities in every step of the project process. They praised the team’s collaborative approach, transparency, and active community engagement as key elements contributing to the project’s 100% completion rate. This achievement sets a benchmark for other regions in similar programs across the Philippines, showcasing the value of community involvement in realizing development goals.

The completion of these KALAHI-CIDSS subprojects under PMNP and NCDDP-AF marks a substantial advancement in DSWD XI’s mission to improve living conditions in disadvantaged areas of the Davao Region. As these projects continue to provide critical services to residents, DSWD XI remains committed to fostering inclusive growth and reducing poverty, in alignment with the agency’s national mandate for social welfare and development.
