Davao de Oro, Philippines — In a remarkable display of commitment to public safety, the Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office (DDOPPO) achieved significant successes throughout October, with multiple high-impact operations aimed at reducing crime and securing local resources. Their efforts led to numerous arrests, substantial confiscations of illegal items, and a safer environment for the province’s residents.
The DDOPPO apprehended a total of 42 wanted individuals, marking a notable accomplishment in its pursuit of justice and crime deterrence. In a crackdown on unlicensed firearms, the team successfully recovered 40 loose firearms, reducing potential threats and contributing to public safety across the province.
The office also intensified its efforts against illegal drugs, carrying out 34 anti-drug operations that resulted in the detention of 39 individuals. Confiscated illegal substances had a total street value of PHP 918,538.40, which DDOPPO stated would significantly impact local drug distribution networks and help deter further drug-related activities.
The provincial police office extended its protective measures to natural resources, conducting 27 operations against illegal logging, which resulted in the seizure of lumber valued at PHP 142,003. These measures align with ongoing provincial and national efforts to preserve natural resources and prevent environmental degradation.
In addition to these efforts, DDOPPO’s anti-illegal gambling operations led to the arrest of 17 individuals across 12 operations, with PHP 5,490 in bet money confiscated. This initiative aims to curb illegal gambling activities that can harm communities and contribute to financial instability.
According to the DDOPPO, these milestones underscore their steadfast commitment to fostering a crime-free Davao de Oro. By intensifying efforts in these high-risk areas, the DDOPPO remains dedicated to creating a secure environment where residents can thrive, free from crime and unlawful activities.
