Davao City, Philippines — In a concerted effort to ensure the safety and security of Davao City, the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) has reaffirmed its commitment to tackling illegal drugs under the command of Acting City Director, PCOL Hansel M. Marantan. Within the last 24 hours, DCPO conducted six successful anti-drug operations, leading to the apprehension of seven individuals and the confiscation of illegal drugs valued at Php 152,456 at standard pricing.
The operations were the result of collaboration between DCPO’s various police stations and the City Drug Enforcement Unit, who have been working closely with active community members. Information provided by residents played a key role in targeting individuals involved in drug-related activities, allowing authorities to maximize their effectiveness in safeguarding the city.
The six operations resulted in the following confiscations:
- PS1-Sta. Ana: Seized Shabu worth Php 2,492.
- PS2-San Pedro: Seized Shabu worth Php 3,264.
- PS8-Toril: Seized Shabu worth Php 5,508.
- PS15-Ecoland: Seized Shabu worth Php 54,536.
- PS18-Bajada: Seized Shabu worth Php 5,032.
- City Drug Enforcement Unit: Seized Shabu worth Php 21,624.
These figures highlight DCPO’s dedication to reducing illegal drug activities in Davao City and making neighborhoods safer for residents. PCOL Marantan expressed his gratitude to Barangay Officials, the community, and the Local Government Unit for their invaluable support in this mission. He emphasized that illegal drugs are a significant factor contributing to crime and reiterated DCPO’s commitment to ongoing anti-drug efforts, reassuring Dabawenyos that the team will not relent in its campaign.
“With the help of our community, we are making strides in our fight against illegal drugs. We thank the public for their cooperation, and we assure them that we will continue our efforts until Davao City is free from the scourge of illegal drugs,” Marantan stated.
