In a significant operation aimed at curbing heinous crimes, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Regional Field Unit (RFU) 10, in collaboration with other police units, successfully apprehended three individuals listed as Top Ten Most Wanted Persons (TTMWP) for statutory rape at the regional level. The coordinated series of police actions, conducted under OPLAN PAGTUGIS, took place across Northern Mindanao.

The operations began with the arrest of alias “Ronaldo,” a 39-year-old resident of Valencia City, Bukidnon. CIDG Cagayan de Oro City Field Unit (CFU) officers apprehended him at 3:45 PM. Listed as No. 3 on the regional TTMWP list, Ronaldo faces two counts of statutory rape, recorded under Criminal Case Nos. 44231-24 and 44232-24, both dated October 11, 2024. No bail bond has been recommended for these charges.

Shortly after, at 3:50 PM, the CIDG Iligan CFU team arrested alias “Jexon,” a 22-year-old resident of Barangay Tubod, Iligan City, ranked No. 6 on the TTMWP list. Jexon faces statutory rape charges documented under Criminal Case No. 44233-24, also dated October 11, 2024, with no bail recommended.

The final apprehension occurred at 9:00 PM in Calamba, Misamis Occidental, where CIDG Misamis Occidental PFU captured alias “Jay,” an 18-year-old student residing in Purok 6, Mauswagon. Jay, also ranked No. 6 on the TTMWP list, was taken into custody under Criminal Case No. 2381, issued on November 4, 2024, for statutory rape. Like the others, Jay’s case recommends no bail.

PBGEN Jaysen C. De Guzman, Acting Regional Director of the Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10), commended the efforts of the CIDG RFU 10 and the participating police units for their dedication and teamwork.

“These operations exemplify our unwavering commitment to public safety and justice. PRO10, together with CIDG RFU 10, will continue to focus on apprehending individuals involved in heinous crimes to ensure justice is served for the victims and their families,” De Guzman stated.

These arrests underscore the CIDG’s dedication to justice and its resolve to capture fugitives linked to serious offenses in the region.
