Kidapawan City, Philippines – A high-value target drug personality was arrested early in the morning on October 9, 2024, during a successful anti-narcotic operation in Purok Bagong Silang, Barangay Perez, Kidapawan City, Cotabato Province.
The operation, which took place at 4:22 AM, was a joint effort by operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Cotabato Provincial Office, the Kidapawan City Police Office, the Cotabato Police Provincial Office Drug Enforcement Unit, and the Delta Company of the 72nd Infantry Battalion, 10th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army.
PDEA Regional Director for Region XII identified the arrested suspect as Herson Quirante y Esapine, 35, an unemployed individual listed as a target drug personality.
Authorities seized 12 sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, commonly known as shabu, weighing approximately one gram with an estimated street value of Php 6,800.
Quirante now faces charges for violating Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
This operation underscores the continued efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat illegal drugs in the region, with authorities committed to pursuing high-value targets to curb the drug trade.
