Drug Suspect Arrested in Wao Drug-Bust Operation

Wao, Lanao del Sur—September 29, 2024 – In a successful anti-drug operation, a suspect known by the alias “Patcha” was arrested in a joint law enforcement buy-bust operation along the National Highway in Purok 6, Barangay Christian Village, Wao, Lanao del Sur. The operation, conducted at around 11:53 AM, was a collaborative effort between the Wao Municipal Police Station (MPS), Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), Provincial Special Operations Group (PSOG), and the 3rd Platoon, 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) of the Lanao del Sur Provincial Police Office (LDSPPO).

The suspect, a resident of Barangay Pilintangan, Wao, was apprehended after attempting to sell illegal drugs. Recovered from his possession were two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance, believed to be shabu, with an estimated weight of 2 grams and a street value of approximately Php 13,600.

PCOL Robert S. Daculan, Provincial Director of LDSPPO, commended the operating units for the successful operation, emphasizing the importance of continued efforts to curb illegal drug activities in the province. The suspect and the seized evidence have been brought to the Wao Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and legal proceedings.

This operation is part of the ongoing campaign of local law enforcement to combat drug-related crimes and maintain peace and order in the region. Further investigations are underway to determine the full extent of the suspect’s involvement in the illegal drug trade.
