CAMP ALAGAR, Cagayan de Oro City – Joint operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) of Misamis Occidental Provincial Office and the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of Tangub City Police Station successfully dismantled a drug den during a buy-bust operation at Panguil Bay Bridge, Brgy. Silanga, Tangub City, Misamis Occidental, on September 28, 2024.
The operation resulted in the arrest of five individuals and the confiscation of suspected illegal drugs and drug-related paraphernalia. The arrested suspects were identified as:
- Alias “Merch,” 28, a drug den maintainer, construction worker, and resident of Brgy. Silanga, Tangub City
- Alias “Roger,” 21, visitor, street light worker, resident of Odiongan, Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental
- Alias “Dexter,” 28, visitor, electrician, resident of Magsaysay, Misamis Oriental
- Alias “Alfredo,” 36, visitor, electrician, resident of Brgy. Crossing, Mangga, Tangub City
- Alias “Romel,” 17, visitor, student, resident of Brgy. Silanga, Tangub City
Confiscated during the operation were 12 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing seven grams with a street value of approximately PhP47,600. Additionally, authorities seized a cigarette box used for drug paraphernalia, a disposable lighter, a motorcycle, a smartphone, and various drug-related items.
The arrested individuals and the confiscated items are now under the custody of the PDEA Misamis Occidental Provincial Office for proper documentation and disposition.
PBGEN Jaysen C. De Guzman, Acting Regional Director of PRO10, commended the joint team for the successful operation. He reaffirmed the commitment of PRO10 to eliminate illegal drug activities within its jurisdiction.
“PRO10 is unwavering in its commitment to eradicate illegal drugs from our region. We, along with other law enforcement agencies, will continue to relentlessly pursue and dismantle all drug operations, ensuring the safety and security of our communities,” PBGEN De Guzman stated.
He also encouraged the public to continue working closely with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and other authorities in the fight against illegal drugs, with the goal of creating a drug-free region.
