Lanao del Norte Governor Thanks Former President Duterte for Support in Panguil Bay Bridge Project

LANAO DEL NORTE – Governor Imelda “Angging” Quibranza-Dimaporo and her husband, former 2nd District Representative Abdullah “Bobby” Dimakuta Dimaporo, recently paid a courtesy visit to former President Rodrigo Duterte to express their gratitude for his administration’s support for Lanao del Norte.

During the visit, Governor Angging specifically thanked the former president for the significant backing the province received, particularly through the Build, Build, Build program, which facilitated the construction of the long-awaited Panguil Bay Bridge. This major infrastructure project is set to enhance connectivity between Lanao del Norte and Misamis Occidental, significantly reducing travel time and boosting economic opportunities for local residents.

“Di gyud namo malimtan ang imong pagka maayo. We look forward to crossing that bridge with you even if you are no longer President,” Gov. Angging remarked, emphasizing the impact the project will have on the region.

The Build, Build, Build program, launched under Duterte’s administration, aimed to accelerate infrastructure development across the Philippines. It focused on building critical infrastructure to support economic growth, improve public transportation, and enhance connectivity in various regions. The Panguil Bay Bridge, with a total length of 3.17 kilometers, is expected to be a game-changer for residents and businesses, providing direct access to key areas and stimulating economic activities.

Accompanying the governor during the visit were Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members Achmad Taha and Sidick Dibaratun, along with PLtCol. Salman Saad, Deputy Provincial Director for Operations of the Lanao del Norte Provincial Police Office.

The construction of the Panguil Bay Bridge, which commenced as part of the government’s infrastructure initiative, showcases the commitment to enhancing transportation networks and fostering regional development. As the project nears completion, residents are optimistic about the opportunities it will bring to Lanao del Norte and the surrounding areas.
