Davao City, Philippines – In a remarkable achievement, Davao City has secured the second spot on the list of the cleanest cities in Southeast Asia, as per the 2024 Mid-Year Numbeo Pollution Index rankings. With a pollution level score of 55.6, Davao stands out among its regional counterparts.

Leading the list is Singapore, recognized for its stringent environmental policies and urban planning, with a low pollution index of 32.5. Following Davao is Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with a score of 65.4, and Bandung, Indonesia, at 67.9.

The rankings highlight the efforts of Davao City in maintaining a cleaner and healthier environment. Mayor Sebastian Duterte expressed pride in the city’s achievement, emphasizing the importance of sustainable practices and community involvement in environmental conservation. “This recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of our local government and the citizens of Davao. Other notable cities in the ranking include Baguio (72.9), Chiang Mai (77.8), and Bangkok (77.9). Cebu and Manila, two other major cities in the Philippines, also made the list with pollution scores of 84.0 and 89.8, respectively.
