Nasipit, Agusan del Norte, October 13, 2024 — Police operatives from the Agusan del Norte Provincial Police Office (ADNPPO) apprehended two individuals during an intensified checkpoint operation, leading to the seizure of illegal drugs, firearms, ammunition, and explosives. The operation, conducted by the 1st ADN Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), took place at District-6, Barangay Camagong, Nasipit.
The suspects, identified as “Francis,” a 40-year-old driver from Buenavista, and “Mark,” a 36-year-old pusher from Nasipit, were flagged down while driving a maroon Toyota Vios. Through the plain view doctrine and a subsequent lawful search, the police discovered 408,000 pesos worth of shabu, firearms, and hand grenades inside the vehicle.
PCOL April Mark C. Young, Acting Provincial Director of ADNPPO, commended the operatives for their quick response and emphasized the importance of preventing the distribution of illegal drugs in the community. Both suspects were informed of their rights in a language they understood and are now in the custody of Carmen Municipal Police Station. Charges will be filed against them for violating R.A. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), R.A. 10591 (Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition), and R.A. 9516 (Illegal Possession of Explosives).
PCOL Young reassured the public that the ADNPPO remains committed to intensifying its anti-crime efforts and ensuring that those involved in illegal activities are brought to justice.
