Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte – In a tragic incident, a vendor was shot dead during a robbery hold-up at a karinderya in Barangay San Roque, Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte, at around 4:15 PM on September 14, 2024. The swift action of the Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office (PNP) led to the arrest of three suspects involved in the crime.
Incident Details
According to a report by Police Senior Staff Sergeant Josephus B. Javerle, the victims were identified as “Genalyn,” a 54-year-old woman; “Evangeline,” a 31-year-old woman; and “Salvador,” a 65-year-old Barangay Captain and owner of the store. All victims are residents of Barangay San Roque.
The initial investigation revealed that the victims were tending to their 24-hour karinderya and refreshment store when three armed men wearing bonnets arrived and declared a hold-up. One of the suspects suddenly shot Evangeline, resulting in her immediate death.
Swift Police Action
The Agusan del Norte PNP quickly identified and apprehended the three suspects. The authorities recovered over PHP 30,000 in cash, two firearms, two cellphones, a brown leather bag, a blue sling bag, a license plate marked 275ZEU, and three jackets allegedly used by the suspects during the crime.
