Barobo, Surigao del Sur – In a joint buy-bust operation led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office XIII and the Barobo Municipal Police Station, authorities apprehended a suspect in Purok 4, Barangay Dughan, Barobo, Surigao del Sur. The operation took place at approximately 7:20 p.m. on September 18, 2024.
The arrested individual, identified as Bienvinido Sajol y Dinalagan, was found in possession of illegal drugs and paraphernalia. The drug evidence recovered included one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing shabu valued at PHP 7,000, which was the subject of the sale. Additionally, authorities seized several other sachets containing shabu with an estimated aggregate street value of more than PHP 40,000.
Aside from the illegal drugs, non-drug evidence was also recovered at the scene. This included the buy-bust money, a Realme Android cellular phone used in the suspect’s illegal drug transactions, several drug paraphernalia, and a driver’s license.
Sajol will face charges under Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), specifically for violations of Sections 5, 11, and 12, Article II, which pertain to the illegal sale, possession, and paraphernalia associated with dangerous drugs.
This successful operation underscores the effective partnership between PDEA RO XIII and the Barobo Municipal Police Station in combating illegal drug activities in the region. The authorities remain committed to their mission of eradicating the drug menace and ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.
