GOOD NEWS! Davao Oriental Welcomes New Mobile Clinic

Davao Oriental – The province of Davao Oriental joyfully received a unit of the Bagong Pilipinas Mobile Clinic today, September 20, 2024. This mobile clinic is fully equipped with advanced medical equipment provided by the national government.

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. personally distributed 28 mobile clinics to 28 provinces in Mindanao during a turn-over ceremony held at the Manila North Harbor Port, attended by officials from Mindanao. The benefiting regions include Regions 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

President Marcos expressed that these mobile clinics are expected to reach remote and underserved areas in the provinces, ensuring that medical services are more accessible to residents in need. “Ang kalusugan ay karapatan, hindi prebelihiyo,” the President stated, emphasizing his dedication to improving the quality of medical services for all Filipinos, especially those in poor and remote areas.

Governor Niño Uy expressed his gratitude for the national government’s support, particularly to the President, for providing the mobile clinic, which will greatly aid the regular medical missions conducted in the province through the Aksyon Panglawas Medical Mission program. This initiative will promote more efficient services and provide comprehensive care to the residents of the province by reaching areas that need medical services the most.

He added that the mobile clinic would also assist in the early diagnosis and treatment of residents in remote areas where access to hospitals and clinics is limited. According to him, many communities in Davao Oriental will benefit from the mobile clinic, helping to address the shortage of facilities and doctors in the province.

Currently, plans are underway to utilize the mobile clinic for upcoming activities and medical missions in various municipalities of Davao Oriental.

The mobile clinic was received by Governor Uy’s representative, Jannet Tecson. Also present at the turn-over ceremony were Department of Health Secretary Dr. Teodoro Herbosa and First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, who is one of the supporters of the initiative under the Lab for All Project.
