Davao City – The Police Regional Office 11 (PRO11), under the leadership of Regional Director Police Brigadier General Leon Victor Z. Rosete, has confirmed that one of its personnel tested positive for methamphetamine, a dangerous drug, during a recent random drug test conducted as part of the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) internal cleansing program.

PRO11 emphasized its strong stance against illegal drug use among its ranks, stressing the importance of maintaining a drug-free police force that can serve the public with honesty and integrity. The random drug testing is part of ongoing efforts to ensure accountability and fitness for duty among police officers.

In line with its commitment to transparency, PRO11 publicly disclosed the result and assured that the officer who tested positive will face due process through the authorized disciplinary board.

However, the agency also addressed a misleading report circulating online that falsely implicated PRO11 spokesperson Police Major Catherine V. Dela Rey as the officer who failed the drug test. The office clarified that PMAJ Dela Rey did not test positive and continues to serve in her role in good standing.

“This claim is completely false and misleading,” PRO11 stated. “We take the spread of fake information seriously and are exploring possible legal actions against those responsible.”

PRO11 reiterated its firm commitment to cleanse its ranks, uphold public trust, and protect the integrity and reputation of its personnel, particularly those falsely accused.

The agency encourages the public to be cautious of misinformation and to verify news from official and reliable sources.
