Camp Gallego, Tubod, Lanao del Norte — A 34-year-old man was arrested during a joint anti-illegal drug operation conducted by law enforcement agencies in Purok 3, Liangan East, Bacolod, Lanao del Norte, on April 4, 2025.

The composite team, composed of personnel from Bacolod Municipal Police Station, the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), Lanao del Norte Police Provincial Office (LDN PPO), and the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), implemented Search Warrant No. 25-0120 issued by Executive Judge Hon. Ali Ombra R. Bacaraman of RTC-LDN Branch 4, Iligan City, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

The suspect, a married resident of the area, was apprehended after operatives recovered several drug-related items from his residence, including:

  • Seven sachets containing suspected shabu with an estimated total weight of 0.6 grams and a street value of Php 4,080;
  • Multiple sachets and paraphernalia believed to contain drug residues;
  • Aluminum strips and foils commonly used in drug consumption;
  • Several disposable lighters.

Police said the suspect is now in custody at Bacolod MPS while documentation and case preparation are underway. Charges for violations of Sections 11 and 12, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are set to be filed against him.

Provincial Director PCOL Roy A. Magsalay of the LDN PPO commended the operating units for their swift and coordinated action.

“This operation highlights the unwavering dedication of law enforcement agencies in combating the illegal drug trade and upholding the rule of law,” Magsalay said. “The seamless collaboration among units showcases the power of unified efforts in addressing the threats posed by illegal drugs in our communities.”

The Lanao del Norte police reiterated their commitment to intensify the campaign against illegal drugs in support of national efforts to maintain peace and security.
