Camp Gallego, Tubod, Lanao del Norte – In a decisive move against illegal drug activities, a composite team of law enforcement units successfully carried out a joint anti-illegal drug operation in Purok 2, Barangay Mate, Bacolod, Lanao del Norte, on March 28, 2025.

The operation was led by personnel from the Bacolod Municipal Police Station (MPS), in coordination with the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), Lanao del Norte Police Provincial Office (LDN PPO), and the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU). The team executed Search Warrant No. 25-0121, issued by Judge Ali Ombra R. Bacaraman of the Regional Trial Court (RTC), 12th Judicial Region, Branch 04, Iligan City, on March 27, 2025. The warrant was issued for violations of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

As a result of the operation, authorities apprehended a 37-year-old male suspect, a resident of the targeted location. During the search and seizure, officers recovered various drug-related items, including:

  • Seven (7) small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, with a total estimated weight of 0.6 grams and a Standard Drug Price (SDP) value of PHP 4,080.00.
  • Four (4) pieces of stripped, cut-rolled aluminum foil.

Cases for violation of Sections 11 and 12, Article II of RA 9165 are being prepared for inquest filing against the suspect, who is currently under the custody of Bacolod MPS for further documentation and disposition.

PCOL Roy A. Magsalay, Provincial Director of LDN PPO, commended the operating personnel for their dedication and teamwork. “This operation highlights the unwavering commitment of law enforcement in combating the illegal drug trade and upholding the rule of law. The seamless collaboration among units demonstrates how unified efforts effectively address the threats posed by illegal drugs in our communities,” he stated.

Authorities reaffirm their commitment to eradicating illegal drugs and ensuring the safety and well-being of residents in Lanao del Norte. The public is encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies.
