March 9-15, 2025 – Under the leadership of Acting City Director, PCOL Hansel M. Marantan, the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) has demonstrated its unwavering commitment to ensuring public safety through a series of successful operations aligned with its four focused directives.
Anti-Illegal Drug Operations
Throughout the week, DCPO executed 24 anti-illegal drug operations, resulting in the arrest of 24 individuals involved in drug-related activities. Authorities confiscated 204.655 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of Php 1,769,360.00 and 527.08 grams of marijuana valued at Php 63,249.60. These operations signify the intensified crackdown on illegal drugs in the city.
Anti-Illegal Gambling Efforts
DCPO’s relentless efforts against illegal gambling led to 21 successful operations, which resulted in the apprehension of 21 individuals. Confiscated from these operations was Php 3,150.00 in bet money. Consequently, 21 cases have been filed against the violators, underscoring the police force’s strict implementation of anti-gambling laws.
Arrest of Wanted Persons
The city police also intensified its efforts to capture individuals with outstanding warrants. A total of 41 operations were conducted, leading to the arrest of 41 wanted individuals. Among those apprehended, 8 were listed as most wanted persons, while 33 others had existing warrants for various offenses. These arrests demonstrate DCPO’s commitment to bringing criminals to justice.
Campaign Against Loose Firearms
To curb the proliferation of illegal firearms, DCPO carried out 8 operations, resulting in the arrest of one individual and the seizure of one illegal firearm. Additionally, the operations led to the recovery and voluntary surrender of five firearms for safekeeping under the Oplan Katok program. Furthermore, one case related to illegal possession of firearms has been filed in court.
Overall Impact and Community Collaboration
In total, 87 individuals were arrested during the period, reflecting the DCPO’s unwavering commitment to crime prevention and law enforcement. These accomplishments highlight the agency’s dedication to upholding the law while respecting human rights and adhering to police operational procedures.
