Davao City – The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) has intensified its campaign against criminal activities, resulting in the arrest of 415 individuals in February 2025. Under the leadership of Acting City Director PCOL Hansel M. Marantan, the DCPO continues to work alongside the community, Barangay Officials, and the Local Government Unit to maintain peace and order in the city.
In its relentless efforts against illegal drugs, the DCPO carried out 108 operations that led to the apprehension of 145 drug personalities. Law enforcers confiscated 1,511.2788 grams of shabu, valued at approximately Php 10,276,695.84, and 4,058.9380 grams of marijuana, worth around Php 487,072.56. A total of 180 cases were filed in court as a result of these operations.
The DCPO also made significant progress in its fight against illegal gambling. Authorities conducted 77 operations, arresting 89 individuals and seizing Php 225,842.00 in bet money. These efforts resulted in 77 cases being filed in court.
In pursuit of wanted persons, police officers executed 168 operations, capturing 168 individuals. Among those arrested, 53 were classified as most wanted persons, while the remaining 115 had standing warrants.
Additionally, the campaign against loose firearms led to 43 operations, resulting in the arrest of 13 individuals. Authorities confiscated 17 firearms, while 13 were voluntarily surrendered. Moreover, 66 firearms were turned in for safekeeping under the Oplan Katok initiative. These operations led to the filing of 11 cases in court.
The DCPO remains steadfast in its mission to ensure the safety and security of Davao City, urging the public to continue supporting its initiatives in combating crime.
