The Forest Management Bureau (FMB) is calling on nature enthusiasts and photography lovers to take part in the 2025 Tree-Hugging Campaign, an initiative that aims to promote tree conservation through a unique photo and caption competition.

Expanding the Reach

This year’s campaign has been expanded to include three official categories to allow wider participation:

  • General Public
  • FMB Employees
  • DENR Regional Offices

How to Join

Participants must follow these steps to submit their entries:

For FMB Employees and the General Public:

  1. Like and follow FMB’s official social media pages on Facebook and Instagram (@denrfmbofficial).
  2. Share the event post from FMB’s official page or Instagram account.
  3. Ensure that submissions feature an individual or a group (maximum of five members) interacting with a tree. Hugging the tree is a mandatory element.
  4. Submit high-resolution photos with creative captions that highlight the importance of trees in the environment and human well-being.
  5. Post the entry publicly on personal Facebook accounts with the following hashtags:
    • #OneTreeLove
    • #FMBTreeHuggingCampaign2025
    • #PunoNgPagmamahal
  6. Tag the official FMB Facebook page in the post.
  7. Submission period: February 10-14, 2025

For DENR Regional Offices:

  1. Submissions may be from individuals or groups.
  2. Photos must showcase individuals interacting with a tree, with hugging being a required component.
  3. Captions should creatively support the message of tree conservation and its significance.
  4. Entries must be posted publicly on personal Facebook accounts with the following hashtags:
    • #FMBTreeHuggingCampaign2025
    • #PunoNgPagmamahal
    • Specific regional hashtags (e.g., #DENRRegionI, #DENRRegionII, etc.)
  5. The Tree Hugging Champ 2025 award will be given to the most participative region, determined by the number of individual submissions per region.
